Lexington attorney Rob Salyer argued a nursing home arbitration case before the U.S. Supreme Court this week where he addressed specifically the commonwealth of Kentucky’s approach to powers of attorney.
“It has been the law of Kentucky since 1912 that powers of attorney are to be strictly interpreted and that the third party deals with the principal by an agent at that third party’s own peril,” he responded to a question from Justice Anthony Kennedy.
