W&M attorney Joe Ficarrotta volunteers for the Veterans Legal Assistance Registry and was able to help veteran James Broner overcome a mountain of traffic tickets last year by working with the Veterans Outreach Court in Hillsborough County, Florida.

The court was created by Judge Daryl Manning, himself a U.S. Army veteran, who saw a need to help vets with minor legal problems before they become insurmountable. This year, the court is hosting an event to help homeless and low-income veterans resolve their legal issues.

The free event will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 at the James A Haley Veteran’s Hospital Primary Care Annex, 13515 Lake Terrace Lane in Tampa. Participants must register in advance by Friday, October 20, 2017, using the form here, and there are a limited number of available spaces.
