Wilkes and McHugh attorneys Lorraine Donnelly, Matt Stone and Carl Wilander represented the family of a woman who was sexually assaulted in an Akron, Pa., nursing home. The trial began on April 24, and on May 3, the jury reached a unanimous verdict, awarding the family $7.5 million in compensatory damages. The parties reached a settlement before the punitive damages portion of the trial could begin.

Wilkes and McHugh Managing Attorney Bill Murray was quoted in the article: “This jury’s unanimous verdict sends a strong message that the most frail among us, the elderly, need to be protected from abuse and neglect.”

Our firm was honored to represent Ms. Brace’s family in the pursuit of justice.
